Thiruvananthapuram . The tricolor was hoisted for the first time on Republic Day in the mosques of Kerala. Kuttiyadi Zuma Masjid Committee secretary K Basheer told the news agency that on the instructions of the Waqf Board, the national flag was hoisted in about 10,000 mosques of the state. Also, the Preamble to the Constitution was also read.
Bashir said that the Constitution is under threat from the Citizenship Amendment Act. In this, discrimination is being done on the basis of religion. Therefore, we read the Preamble of the Constitution with solidarity. We also hoisted the national flag in mosques to maintain the unity of the country.
Chief Minister Vijayan joins Manav series
On the other hand, protesting the citizenship law was led by a 620 km human chain led by the ruling CPI (M).The Left formed a human chain from Kasaragod in north Kerala to Kaliachak in the southern part of the state. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPI leader Kanam Rajendran also attended the protest in Thiruvananthapuram.
People took oath to protect the constitution
The Left party claimed that about 60 to 70 lakh people participated in the human chain. The human series was produced at 4 pm. Later people read the Preamble of the Constitution and took an oath to protect it. Senior CPI (M) leader S Ramachandran Pillai was the first episode of the 620 km long human chain at Kasaragod, while MA Baby was the last person in Kaliachakavilay. Many prominent personalities from all walks of life participated in the human chain.
